What happened to Sumangal Cycle Diwas Abhiyan in MP’s Rewa division? Is Commissioner BS Jamod only officer cycling to office now?
The Sumangal Cycle Diwas Abhiyan, launched with much fanfare to protect the environment and protect one's own health in MP's Rewa division, has now become a mere show.
The Sumangal Cycle Diwas Abhiyan, was launched by Commissioner BS Jamod in Rewa Division, Madhya Pradesh, urgeing officials and employees to cycle to the office every Tuesday to promote environmental protection and health.
This campaign is inspired by World Bicycle Day (June 3) and inspired by the "Fit India" movement, in which citizens are enthusiastically participating. Under the campaign, officials and employees in all districts of Rewa Division are expected to cycle to their offices every Tuesday.
But now the Divisional Commissioner himself is the sole exemplar of this pledge to cycle to the office. Officials from other departments are now commuting to the office using government vehicles.
Following the Divisional Commissioner's call, officers pledged to cycle to the office every Tuesday, but the cycle campaign has now stalled. Some officers used to ride e-rickshaws or walk to the office to get their photographs clicked. Even this has now stopped.
