Good News for Wildlife Tourists: Tiger Tourism Corridor to link major wildlife destinations of MP, says CM Mohan Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of tigers in India and also the largest number of tiger reserves. He stated that wildlife tourism destinations are being linked through a dedicated corridor, which has been named the ‘Tiger Tourism Corridor’. The State Government is promoting both wildlife conservation and tourism.
Owing to Madhya Pradesh’s strategic geographical location, this corridor will also serve as a major benefit for neighbouring states, providing seamless connectivity for tourism, commercial and other essential activities. Roads connecting major tiger reserves across the state will be upgraded under this initiative.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said in his message that the roads linking Pench Tiger Reserve to Kanha Tiger Reserve, Kanha to Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, and Bandhavgarh to Panna Tiger Reserve will span 625 kilometres, with Rs 5,000 crore to be invested in upgradation and development.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is receiving several major development initiatives under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Following the successful reintroduction of cheetahs at Kuno National Park in Sheopur, the region has emerged as a major attraction for wildlife enthusiasts and tourists.
He said visitors from Madhya Pradesh, neighbouring states such as Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, and other parts of the country are arriving in large numbers, bringing continued benefits to the state.
CM said keeping Simhastha 2028 in view, timelines have been fixed to complete major road projects by December 2027. Directions have been issued to ensure the timely completion of projects such as the Khandwa Bypass, Jabalpur Ring Road, Indore–Harda Road and Rewa Bypass. To ensure speed and quality in execution, regular review meetings will also be conducted.
