What did Bangladesh say on reports of ICC decision regarding team's participation in T20 World Cup-2026
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has said that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has assured it of the full and uninterrupted participation of the Bangladesh team in this year's T20 World Cup-2026.
The BCB also said that it has responded to requests for alternative venues for its team's matches.
In a press statement, the BCB said that the ICC has assured it of the full participation of the Bangladesh team in the T20 World Cup and has pledged to work together to address the concerns raised by the board.
The BCB also refuted media reports claiming that the board had been given an ultimatum in this regard.
The BCB said that it will work with the ICC but prioritizes the safety and well-being of its players participating in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board had requested the ICC to hold Bangladesh's matches in the T20 World Cup outside of India.
The board had expressed concerns about the safety of its players.
The BCB's move came after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the IPL franchise, released Bangladeshi player Mustafizur Rahman despite signing him for Rs 9.2 crore in the mini-auction.
BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia had said that he had asked KKR to release Mustafizur Rahman.
