Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that flowers are not only a beautiful and powerful expression of nature but also of our emotions. Currently, these flowers are becoming a means of increasing farmers' income, encouraging rural entrepreneurship, and strengthening export potential. It is a matter of pride that Madhya Pradesh is a leading state in flower production in the country. The fragrance of Madhya Pradesh's flowers is reaching as far as Paris and London

The CM announced that the one-day state-level flower festival held at the Rose Garden in Bhopal would be extended to three days.



CM Dr. Mohan Yadav was addressing the state-level flower exhibition organized at the Government Rose Garden, Link Road No. 1, on Friday, on the occasion of the Farmer Welfare Year-2026. CM inspected the exhibition and interacted with farmers, nursery owners, and flower enthusiasts. 

CM Dr. Mohan Yadav distributed awards to the winners of various competitions held for different categories at the flower exhibition and also distributed benefits to beneficiaries of various schemes. Dr. Yadav also released the department's brochure.



A short film focusing on horticultural activities in the state was also screened on this occasion. Minister of Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development, Edal Singh Kanshana, and Minister of Horticulture and Food Processing, Narayan Singh Kushwaha, were present at the event.

Flower production is increasing farmers' cash income

The CM said that through the state-level flower exhibition, farmers are being encouraged to cultivate flowers on a commercial scale. Farmers in the state are increasing their income through flower production. In this event, flower-producing farmers, nursery owners, and buyers have all come together in one place. 40,000 farmers in the state are associated with flower production, and flowers are being cultivated on 45,000 hectares of land



CM said every year, millions of tons of flowers are being sent to Gujarat, Maharashtra, and even abroad. Madhya Pradesh is the second-largest flower-producing state in the country. Until 2021-22, the area under flower cultivation in the state was 37,000 hectares, which has now increased to 44,000 hectares. The state's flower production has reached 86 lakh tons

Horticulture is of special importance for progress in agriculture: Kushwaha

Horticulture and Food Processing Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha said that the Horticulture Department is continuously moving forward with innovative programs during the Farmer Welfare Year. Experts from the Horticulture Department are present at this flower exhibition to guide the farmers. 



Local MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani, former MP K.P. Yadav, Agriculture Production Commissioner Ashok Barnwal, Secretary Horticulture John Kingsley AR, and a large number of farmers and nursery owners from across the state were present at the event.
