India Issues Advisory for Venezuela: What Russia, China said?
In view of recent developments in Venezuela, Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid all non-essential travel to Venezuela.
The Ministry of External Affairs has said that all Indians who are in Venezuela for any reason are advised to exercise extreme caution, restrict their movements, and remain in contact with Embassy of India in Caracas through their email id: cons.caracas@mea.gov.in or the emergency phone number +58-412-9584288 (also for WhatsApp calls).
Meanwhile, Russia, a close ally of Venezuela, said that if the allegations prove true, it would be a serious violation of any country's sovereignty and international law.
China said it was deeply shocked and strongly condemned the United States' open use of force against a sovereign nation and its actions against the country's president.
The British Prime Minister stated that Britain had no role in these attacks, while Argentina welcomed the US action.
However, Brazilian President Luiz Inรกcio Lula da Silva warned that "bombing Venezuelan territory and capturing its president would be crossing a line that cannot be tolerated," and that "these actions constitute a very serious attack on Venezuela's sovereignty."
