Karisma Kapoor’s Children Move Delhi High Court Against Stepmother in Inheritance Dispute

🎧 Listen:

Children of Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor have approached the Delhi High Court in connection with a high-profile inheritance dispute following the death of their father, industrialist Sunjay Kapur.

Karisma Kapoor’s daughter Samaira and son Kiaan have filed a petition challenging the validity of a will allegedly executed by their late father. The children have accused their stepmother, Priya Sachdev Kapur, of producing a disputed will that they claim was brought forward shortly after Sunjay Kapur’s death and effectively excludes them from their rightful inheritance.

According to the plea, the children have alleged that the will in question is forged or manipulated, and have sought judicial scrutiny of its authenticity. They have asked the court to recognise them as Class-I legal heirs and grant them their legitimate share in their father’s estate, estimated to be worth several thousand crore rupees.

The petition also seeks a stay on transfer or disposal of assets, partition of the estate, a full accounting of assets and financial holdings and a permanent injunction restraining any unilateral control over the estate until the dispute is resolved

During preliminary hearings, the matter drew sharp observations from the petitioners’ counsel, who argued that the children’s interests were being sidelined. The court has taken the matter on record and is expected to examine documents related to the will, asset ownership, and succession claims in the coming hearings.

Sunjay Kapur was married to Karisma Kapoor before their divorce. He later married Priya Sachdev Kapur. The case has attracted widespread attention due to the scale of the estate involved and the family issues surrounding the legal battle.

The High Court is expected to hear the matter further in the coming weeks as both sides prepare to present documentary and legal evidence.
