Madhya Pradesh: Govt is hiking financial support of Ladli Behnas, sisters will be trained and linked to employment, what more CM Mohan Yadav said?

Madhya Pradesh: CM Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the state government is consistently working toward women’s empowerment. On the occasion, an amount of Rs 1,836 crore was transferred to the accounts of ‘Ladli Behna’ beneficiaries. By January 2026, a total of Rs 50,000 crore will have been transferred to the accounts of beneficiary sisters.

CM Dr. Mohan Yadav addressed an event at Makhan Nagar (Babai), where amounts under the ‘Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna’ Yojana were disbursed, along with the ‘Bhoomi-Poojan’ and inauguration of various development projects. 

Benefits under several public welfare schemes were also distributed on the occasion. The CM transferred over Rs 90 crore as a subsidy for gas cylinder refilling to 29 lakh eligible sisters under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala’ Yojana. He also performed the bhoomi-pujan and inauguration of development works worth Rs 206 crore for the Sohagpur Assembly constituency, including the newly constructed Circuit House at Makhan Nagar.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav paid floral tribute at the statue of the renowned litterateur Pt. Makhanlal Chaturvedi and hoisted the national flag at the main square, saluting it to the tune of the National Anthem. The Chief Minister also visited development exhibitions set up by various departments at the venue.

Sisters will be trained and linked to employment

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government will also support sisters with Rs 5,000 for employment-linked industrial work. Women are being given an additional 2 per cent concession on property registration.

 50 sisters have become Lakhpatis

CM said that mulberry silk from Narmadapuram is well known, and that the establishment of thread-manufacturing units has enabled 50 sisters to become ‘Lakhpatis’. The state government has declared 2026 as ‘Farmer Welfare Year’, during which agriculture will be linked with employment and industry. Sisters will be trained and connected with self-help groups. Farmers are being ensured fair prices for wheat, paddy and pulses.

CM informed that 1,000 acres of land in the Babai–Mohasa industrial area have already been allotted and work is underway to allot an additional 400 acres for industrial purposes.
