Madhya Pradesh to experience dense fog; severe cold likely from Jan second week, chesk IMD predictions and updates
Madhya Pradesh will experience dense fog for the next three days, followed by a spell of intense cold. Rain is expected in Bhopal and Indore. According to the Meteorological Department, a cold wave could last for 15 to 20 days in January. The period of severe cold will begin in the second week and continue until the end of the month.
Dense fog is prevailing in Madhya Pradesh. In Bhopal, Sehore, Raisen, Shajapur, and Dhar, the fog persisted even after 9 AM. In Sehore, the visibility was reduced to just 20 meters.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), dense fog will continue for the next three days. This will be followed by a period of intense cold. Earlier on Friday, dense to moderate fog covered half of the state. The daytime temperature remained below 24 degrees Celsius in 15 cities.
This time there was no rain anywhere in the state during December. The weather remained clear. A cold wave lasted for 15 to 16 days in several districts, including Bhopal and Indore.
On the very first day of the year, light rain occurred in Gwalior. Rain is also expected in Bhopal and Indore. In Rajasthan, the temperature reached 0 degrees for the first time in the new year. The mercury dropped to the freezing point in the hill station of Mount Abu. The desert districts of Barmer and Bikaner also experienced intense cold. A fog alert has been issued for 10 districts, including Sikar and Hanumangarh.
In Uttarakhand, snowfall occurred in Pithoragarh, including Kedarnath, Badrinath, and Hemkund Sahib, increasing the cold in the lower areas. The temperature dropped below zero in 7 cities. The temperature in Badrinath was recorded at minus 13 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the temperature in Delhi was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius on Saturday morning. The AQI was recorded at 222.
