Young cricketer Sai Sudharsan sustains injury, fracturs his rib, how long will it take to heal?
Young Indian cricketer Sai Sudharsan sustained an injury during a Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh. He suffered a fractured rib. The 24-year-old Sudharsan is unlikely to play in the remaining matches for Tamil Nadu. However, he is expected to be available for the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Sai Sudharsan last played internationally against South Africa in Guwahati from November 22-26, 2024. He was not part of the white-ball series.
A BCCI source revealed that Sudharsan fractured his seventh rib (anterior cortex) on his right side while diving to complete a run during the Vijay Hazare Trophy match between Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh in Ahmedabad. Sudharsan may be sidelined for more than a month. Currently, Sudharsan is not part of the Indian cricket team.
It is reported that this type of injury typically takes six to eight weeks to heal. Sudharsan's recent performance in Test cricket has been disappointing, where he has failed to perform well in nine out of 11 innings.
Sudarshan reported to the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on December 29 after sustaining an injury. He underwent a scan there, and the report, which came out today, revealed a fracture. The fracture is in the same location where he was injured during a net session in the early stages of the tournament.
