MP: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the Shri Mahakal Mahotsav has transformed the beauty of Ujjain into something akin to heaven. He remarked that today’s Ujjain resembles the Avantika described in the literary works of Kalidasa.
The Chief Minister said that Ujjain, the city of Shri Mahakal, is the city of time itself. By the grace of Shri Mahakal, every breath of our lives is sustained, and this inspiration dedicates human life to the service of humanity. The Shri Mahakal Mahotsav serves as a medium to connect devotees with spirituality, faith, and the rich cultural traditions of the state. Through this festival, devotees will receive Baba Mahakal’s blessings as well as deeper insight into Ujjain.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav performed rituals and formally inaugurated the Shri Mahakal Mahotsav on the sacred evening of Makar Sankranti.

Ujjain is also home to the Shakti Peeth Maa Garh Kalika and a Gurudwara on the banks of the Kshipra River, where Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited and mentioned Ujjain in his verses. He emphasized that Ujjain’s diversity and harmony are truly unique.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced that Ujjain district will soon receive major development projects, including the Indore–Ujjain six-lane road, the six-laning of the Harifatak Bridge, and a sports complex, along with several other ongoing development works.
