🎧 Listen:

Madhya Pradesh has achieved a historic milestone with its Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Prime Minister's Housing Scheme) becoming the first in the country to be certified with the IGBC NEST Plus rating. This is the first Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana house in the country to receive this certification.

The IGBC NEST PLUS rating is a certification for eco-friendly, self-built homes up to 300 square meters (EWS, LIG, MIG categories), specifically focusing on energy (20-30%) and water (30-50%) savings, improved health, and reduced costs. This certification is a significant milestone in the direction of sustainable, eco-friendly, and energy-efficient housing construction in rural areas.

Madhya Pradesh has earned this distinction. The house under the scheme belongs to beneficiary Pranchand in Pataleshwar Gram Panchayat of Aron area in Guna district

This house effectively incorporates green building standards such as energy conservation, water efficiency, improved indoor environmental quality, and judicious use of resources.

Guna Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal said that excellent work is being done at various levels by the Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat Abhishek Dubey, and other officers. Innovations are also being implemented to ensure better execution of development works in the district.

Kanyal said that this achievement belongs not only to Pataleshwar Gram Panchayat and Aron town but to the entire state of Madhya Pradesh. This achievement will now play a significant role in making new houses built under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme more sustainable, eco-friendly, and future-oriented.
