Prayagraj: A magnificent divine Jyotirlinga, made from 5 crore 51 lakh Rudraksha beads, has been installed at the Sangam Ghat during the ongoing Magh Mela-2026 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

This 11-foot-tall, 7-foot-thick, and 9-foot-wide Shiva Lingam has been built as a symbol of Ekadasha Rudra, seven forms of prosperity, and nine forms of devotion. Abhay Chaitanya Brahmachari Mauni Baba explained that during the Magh Mela, which commenced after the Mahakumbh, all the deities are present on Earth, and therefore, special prayers are being offered to Lord Shiva.

Installation was inspired by the story of Ramayana

According to Baba, this installation was inspired by the story of the Ramayana, when Lord Rama worshipped a Shiva Lingam before his victory over Ravana. The main objective is to resolve national and global problems through the grace of Lord Shiva.

The five main resolutions include the construction of temples in Kashi and Mathura, the eradication of terrorism, the protection of Bangladeshi Hindus, the prosperity of the nation, and the spread of education. Daily circumambulations (parikrama), Havan (fire rituals), worship, and lamp (diya) lighting ceremonies are being organized for these purposes.

11,108 trishuls installed around the Shiva Lingam

11,108 tridents (trishuls) have been installed around the Shiva Lingam. These include a black trident in the south (for the destruction of terrorism), a yellow trident in the east (for national defense), a white trident in the west (for knowledge and wisdom), and four special tridents (representing auspiciousness, prosperity, grace, and blessings).

In addition, there are 27 flags of Brahma-Indra (representing the 27 constellations), a Bhagwat flag (symbol of power), six gates (inspired by the six schools of philosophy), and victory bells on each. 12 bells are dedicated to the 12 zodiac signs.

Mahayagna from Makar Sankranti to Mahashivratri

The Mahayagna will continue from Makar Sankranti to Mahashivratri. It will include the chanting of 12 crore 51 lakh Mahamantras, the lighting of one lakh diyas, 101 Havan offerings, and the daily Maha Aarti of Mahakal.

A continuous fire is burning for the destruction of terrorism, where special Havan rituals will be performed during five circumambulations. These rituals will destroy the calamities of those who take the Magh bath and fulfill all their wishes.
