Silver reaches, gold close to all-time high, check today's rates, will prices rise further?

Silver reached an all-time high today, January 6. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of one kilogram of silver increased by Rs 7,725 to Rs 2,44,788. Previously, it was priced at Rs 2,37,063 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold increased by Rs 741 to Rs 1,36,909. It was previously at Rs 1,36,168. Gold had reached its all-time high of Rs 1,38,161 on December 29, 2025. Now gold is also close to all time high. 

In 2025, gold became 75% and silver 167% more expensive.

Last year, in 2025, the price of gold increased by Rs 57,033 (75%). On December 31, 2024, 10 grams of 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 76,162, which rose to Rs 1,33,195 by December 31, 2025.

The price of silver also increased by Rs 1,44,403 (167%) during this period. On December 31, 2024, one kilogram of silver was priced at Rs 86,017, which rose to Rs 2,30,420 per kilogram by the end of the year.

Will prices rise further?

Prices may rise further in the coming days. Experts say that the demand for silver is currently strong and is expected to remain so. Therefore, silver could reach Rs 2.75 lakh this year. Similarly, the demand for gold also remains strong. In this scenario, it could cross Rs 1.50 lakh per 10 grams by the end of this year.
