🎧 Listen:

After securing a significant victory in the Maharashtra municipal elections-2026, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi has thanked the people of the state.

Owaisi also instructed his newly elected councilors to continue working among the people.

Asaduddin Owaisi said, "AIMIM candidates have won in 125 wards in Maharashtra. I would like to thank the people of Maharashtra. I would also like to thank all the party workers and leaders."

He added, "I hope that our winning candidates will live up to the expectations of the people. It is very difficult to maintain the same level of engagement and accessibility with the public that leaders demonstrate during election campaigns."

"I want to tell all my councilors that you should remain among the people and carry out development work in your respective wards."

AIMIM senior leader Shariq Naqshbandi, reacting to the election results, said that the narrow defeat in the last election had instilled a sense of introspection and determination among party workers. This is why the organization fought this election with a more aggressive and well-planned strategy at the grassroots level.

According to Naqshbandi, party president Asaduddin Owaisi did not limit himself to just public rallies this time but campaigned door-to-door.

AIMIM has registered better-than-expected results in the Maharashtra municipal elections. The party has won in 125 wards across 13 municipal corporations.

AIMIM performed remarkably well in several major urban areas of Maharashtra this time.

The party won 33 seats in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, 21 in Malegaon, 15 in Amravati, 13 in Nanded, 10 in Dhule, and 8 in Solapur.

In addition, by winning 6 seats in Mumbai, 5 in Thane, 2 in Jalgaon, and 1 in Chandrapur, the party sent a message that its influence is not limited to only a few areas.

This is AIMIM's strongest performance to date in Maharashtra.
