55 female students die in Iran in Israel attack; Iran attacks US bases in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia; thick smoke billows from US Naval Base in Bahrain
Israel attacked several cities, including Iran's capital, Tehran, on Saturday morning. According to the IRNA news agency, 55 female students were killed and 45 injured in these attacks in southern Iran.
In response, Iran launched retaliatory attacks against Israel. According to media reports, Iran fired approximately 400 missiles in retaliation.
In addition to Israel, Iran also attacked US bases in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. Iran also targeted Dubai, the most populous city in the UAE.
Arabic media reports also reported that explosions were heard and a plume of smoke was seen in Bahrain's capital, Manama.
Iran attacked the US Navy's 5th Fleet headquarters at the Naval Support Activity (NSA) in Bahrain. A video of the Iranian ballistic missile attack has also surfaced, clearly showing the missile hitting the US Navy's 5th Fleet headquarters.
The UAE's Defense Ministry said it had again intercepted new missiles coming from Iran. Explosions were heard in Dubai, believed to be from the missiles being intercepted.
Iran's military has announced it has carried out its first large-scale drone strike against Israel, launching dozens of attack drones in retaliation for US and Israeli strikes.
Thick smoke billows from US Naval Base in Bahrain
Following the Iranian attack, thick, black smoke was seen rising from the US Naval Base in the Jufair area of Bahrain's capital, Manama. This is the location of the US Navy's 5th Fleet and Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) headquarters.
Visuals emerging from the attack showed large plumes of black smoke over the naval base complex. However, there has been no official confirmation of damage or casualties.
