UN Security Council holds emergency meeting; Secretary-General Antonio Guterres demands immediate halt to military action in Middle East
US, Israel attack Iran: An emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council has been called in New York on Saturday. This meeting has been called at the request of Bahrain, Colombia, China, Russia, and France.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has criticized "Saturday's military action in the Middle East."
In a statement, he said that this action undermines international peace and security. He demanded an "immediate halt."

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi shared a photo of a building on Twitter, from which smoke can be seen rising.
Araghchi wrote that the building, a primary school for girls in southern Iran, was destroyed.
He wrote, "This (school) was bombed in broad daylight while young children were present. Dozens of innocent children were killed at this site alone. These crimes against the Iranian people will be answered."
According to Iran's state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), an Israeli attack struck a girls' primary school in Minab County, in Iran's southern Hormozgan province, on Saturday.
The agency quoted a spokesman for the Ministry of Education as saying that 53 people were killed and 63 injured in the attack.
The spokesman said debris was being removed from the school to search for other possible victims.
What Iran's Foreign Minister said about Khamenei
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that as far as he knows, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is "alive."
He also said that Iran may have lost "one or two commanders" in the Israeli and US attacks.
Iran's state media has so far dismissed reports of the killing of Iranian officials and the army chief.
