Lucknow: With a resolve to transform Uttar Pradesh into an economic powerhouse, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath departed today for a four-day official visit to Singapore and Japan. This is his first foreign trip since assuming office in 2017, and is considered a major step towards attracting global investment to the state.

The primary objective of this trip is to establish Uttar Pradesh as a leading manufacturing hub in the world and to introduce foreign investors to the state's changing landscape.

Will hold meeting with leading global companies

During his visit, the Chief Minister will have a very busy schedule and hold important meetings with representatives from 33 global companies. In Singapore, he will explore investment opportunities through roundtable meetings and G2B meetings with 25 leading companies.

In Japan, he will interact with eight major companies. The main focus of these meetings will be on cutting-edge technology sectors such as data centers, logistics, clean energy, semiconductors, automobiles, and AI.

Will take a ride on Japan's Maglev Train

A special technological highlight of the Chief Minister's visit is a ride on Japan's state-of-the-art 'Maglev' train. Yogi Adityanath will undertake a test ride of approximately 100 kilometers on this high-speed train, capable of reaching speeds of over 600 km per hour.

Through this trip, the Chief Minister will closely study foreign technologies to make Uttar Pradesh's future transportation infrastructure more modern and faster.

What is a Maglev Train?

The most exciting part of this entire foreign tour will be a ride on Japan's state-of-the-art "Maglev Train." You might be wondering what's so special about it? Actually, this train doesn't run on tracks, but rather floats in the air above the tracks! Yes, thanks to magnetic levitation technology, there's no friction between the wheels and the tracks. When Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath takes a 100-kilometer test ride, he will experience speeds of up to 600 kilometers per hour. Japan is set to fully launch it by 2027. CM Yogi himself will closely understand this technology so that a similar revolutionary model of transportation between Uttar Pradesh's major cities can be considered in the future.

CM will wear shoes instead of his traditional sandals

Another interesting aspect of this tour that has become a topic of discussion in the corridors is the Chief Minister's attire. We all know that Yogi Adityanath is always seen in his traditional saffron robes. It is reported that he will continue this simple attire during his foreign trips.

However, there will be a slight change. He will wear shoes instead of his traditional sandals during official meetings and when visiting technical sites like the Maglev train. This decision is likely made for security and protocol reasons. Furthermore, in Japan, he will visit the famous Ram and Hanuman temples near Tokyo, indicating that cultural engagement is high on his agenda, along with development.

Preparations to Establish 'Japan and Singapore City' in Greater Noida

To attract foreign investors, the Uttar Pradesh government has already formulated a concrete plan, which the Chief Minister will present to investors. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has identified 500 acres of land each to develop 'Japan City' and 'Singapore City' near Greater Noida.

During his visit, the Chief Minister will formally invite leading companies from both countries to invest and set up their plants in these dedicated industrial zones.

Interaction with NRIs

In addition to investment meetings, the CM Yogi's visit is also culturally and socially significant. He will address NRIs living in both Singapore and Japan, as well as natives of Uttar Pradesh.

Will interact with schoolchildren

In addition, in Japan, he will interact with schoolchildren and strengthen cultural ties by visiting the ancient Hanuman Temple in Tokyo. This visit is expected to not only attract investment to the state but also enhance Uttar Pradesh's reputation internationally.
