ICC T20 World Cup-2026: Rinku Singh will rejoin the Team India's ICC T20 World Cup-2026 squad in Kolkata on Saturday ahead of Sunday's Super 8 match against the West Indies. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said that Rinku will be joining the team on Saturday.
His father, Khanchand Singh, passed away on Friday. He was 60 years old and had fourth-stage liver cancer. Rinku had flown directly from Chennai to Aligarh for his father's last rites, but will now be back with the team.
The match against the West Indies at the Eden Gardens Stadium is a virtual knockout, with the winning team qualifying for the semi-finals along with South Africa from Group 1.

The ongoing tournament is Rinku’s first World Cup, and his return comes as India fight to remain in contention for a semifinal place
Rinku has scored 24 runs in five innings so far. This is Rinku's first World Cup. He was not included in the playing eleven as he was a traveling reserve for the 2024 tournament.
Rinku Singh took a flight from Chennai to the home on February 24. He had to miss a practice session for the T20 World Cup. He spent about six hours with his father at the hospital.He told his father that there was a match against Zimbabwe on February 26, and he had to play for his country.
Then his father blessed him, and said, "You will one day reach great heights. Never consider yourself alone... May every father have a son like you."
