India's Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the final details of India's trade deal with the United States are being finalized in the last round of negotiations.

Speaking on Tuesday, he said that a joint statement from India and the US would be issued very soon, outlining the details of the agreement, which both countries will sign shortly.

Piyush Goyal stated that India has not compromised on the interests of its agriculture and dairy sectors.

He said, "The Prime Minister has never compromised on their interests. People are aware of this. Under the India-US deal, sensitive sectors like agriculture and dairy have been protected."

Goyal said that all the details would be made public as soon as the final agreement is reached.

He said, "I want to assure the people of India that this is an agreement that will make every Indian proud. This agreement will fully protect the interests of our sensitive sectors, especially the agriculture and dairy sectors."

Goyal added, "It will open up huge opportunities for our labor-intensive sectors and export sectors, including textiles, plastics, ready-made garments, home decor, leather and footwear, gems and jewelry, organic chemicals, rubber products, machinery, various industrial products, and aircraft components. This is truly an agreement that every Indian can be proud of."

Goyal clarified that the purchase of $500 billion worth of American products would take place over five years. He said that this press conference was necessary to clarify the situation due to the uproar created by the Congress and other opposition parties in Parliament on this issue, and that detailed information about the agreement would be provided later.
