Madhya Pradesh strongly presented its global aspirations in the field of higher education at the QS India Summit 2026 held in Goa. Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Higher Education, Anupam Rajan, held a one-on-one dialogue with delegates from the prestigious University of Canterbury, New Zealand, engaging in fruitful discussions on research, innovation, and international academic collaboration.

ACS Rajan stated that in this competitive era, international partnerships, joint research, and academic exchange are crucial for making Madhya Pradesh a global hub for higher education. The summit placed special emphasis on sustainability, research-oriented learning, and innovative teaching methodologies.

Established in 1873, the University of Canterbury is a leading research university in New Zealand. It is ranked among the top 300 universities in the world and has a global reputation in subjects such as arts, commerce, law, engineering, and science. 

ACS Rajan's active participation in the three-day QS India Summit 2026 allowed Madhya Pradesh to present its robust strategy for collaboration with foreign universities, joint research, and capacity building.

This initiative will prove significant in developing the state into a global hub for higher education. Commissioner Higher Education Prabal Sipaha, Officer on Special Duty Dr. Sunil Singh, Rakesh Srivastava, Manoj Agnihotri, and other officials were also present at the summit.
