Lord Mahakal gives darshan to devotees adorned in form of Sheshnag on third day of Shiv Navratri at Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain
Ujjain: In the world-famous Jyotirlinga Lord Mahakaleshwar temple located in the ancient city of Ujjain, after the evening prayers on the third day of Shiv Navratri, Lord Mahakaleshwar gave darshan to devotees adorned in form of Sheshnag.
Lord Mahakaleshwar, one of the twelve principal Jyotirlingas of the country, was specially adorned with a crown, a garland of skulls, snake earrings, and a garland of fruits on this occasion. The festival of Shiv Navratri is being celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm at the Mahakaleshwar temple. During this period, Lord Mahakaleshwar will give darshan to devotees in various forms every day until February 14.
Shri Ganesh Puja and Shri Koteshwar Mahadev Puja performed
According to sources from the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee, at 8 am, Shri Ganesh Puja and Shri Koteshwar Mahadev Puja were performed at the Kotitirtha ghat located in the temple complex. The third day of the Shiv Navratri festival began with puja, abhishek, and aarti. Under the guidance of the temple's chief priest, Ghanshyam Sharma, 11 Brahmins performed the Ekadash-Ekadashini Rudrapath abhishek of Lord Mahakaleshwar. This puja will continue daily until February 14.
After the evening Panchamrit Puja at 3 pm, Lord Mahakaleshwar assumed a tangible form after being adorned with bhang (cannabis paste). Inthe coming days, Lord Mahakaleshwar will give darshan to devotees in the form of Shri Ghatatop.\
Harikirtan discourse
It is noteworthy that a nine-day Harikirtan discourse by Dr. Ajay Apamarjane is being organized from February 6. Every day from 5 to 6 pm, the kirtan is being held on the marble platform near the Navagraha temple in the temple complex. On the third day of the Harikirtan, Dr. Apamarjane, through the bhajan "Kab Sumiroge Ram Ab Tum" by Sant Kabir Maharaj, eloquently explained the importance of chanting the Lord's name, the purpose of life, and the essence of devotion to Lord Shiva. Shridhar Vyas provided accompaniment on the tabla.
