Nashik: Four mild tremors were felt in the Harsul area of Trimbakeshwar in Nashik district, Maharashtra, in the past 24 hours.

Officials said the first tremor, measuring 1.5 on the Richter scale, was recorded at 7:49 pm on Sunday. A second quake of magnitude 1.35 followed around midnight. Two additional tremors, each measuring 1.2, were felt in the early morning and later in the afternoon. All four events were recorded by the seismological centre.

According to reports, villagers were forced to temporarily leave their homes due to the continuous tremors. No casualties or property damage has been reported, although the repeated tremors have put the administration on alert.

Local residents reported three more mild tremors within a few hours of the first tremor. Some also claimed to have heard sounds from underground. Although the tremors were low in intensity, the four tremors within a short period of time created an atmosphere of fear.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the revenue administration and disaster management system were activated. The relevant departments are reviewing the situation, and information is being collected from the earthquake center for an accurate assessment of the intensity. The administration has stated that the future course of action will become clear only after an official report is received.

According to geologists, such mild tremors can primarily be caused by underground movement or local geological changes. If there is persistent vibration, it is important to monitor it. People have been urged to follow official instructions rather than believe rumors.

Mild tremors have been reported in the area during similar periods over the past two years, especially between December and February. In light of the recent activity, local officials have begun inspections in affected villages to assess ground conditions and interact with residents.
