Prime Minister Narendra Modi has surpassed the milestone of 100 million followers on Instagram.
He has become the first politician in the world to achieve this on the platform.
Prime Minister Modi joined Instagram in 2014. Over the past decade, his account has become one of the most active and popular digital platforms among world leaders.
PM Modi now has the most followers on Instagram among major global leaders. He has more than double the number of followers on the platform as US President Donald Trump, who is second with 43.2 million followers.
The combined number of followers of the top five world leaders is less than Modi's single follower count. Trump is followed by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto with 15 million followers.
Brazilian President Lula Lula is fourth with 14.4 million followers. Turkish President Erdogan has 11.6 million followers.
Amit Shah has 29.7 million followers
Among Indian leaders, Amit Shah has 29.7 million followers, Yogi Adityanath has 16.1 million followers, and Rahul Gandhi has 12.6 million followers on Instagram.
PM Modi had already reached the 100 million followers mark on social media X in 2024. Currently, he has 106.2 million followers on X. He has 54 million followers on Facebook and 11.7 million on WhatsApp.
This is the highest number of followers on any social media account of the Prime Minister. He is followed by 100 million on Instagram, 54 million on Facebook, and 11.7 million on WhatsApp.
