PM Modi visits innovation exhibition in Jerusalem, emphasizes strengthening India-Israel tech partnership
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accompanied by the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, visited an exhibition showcasing pioneering Israeli innovations across several sectors. The exhibition featured leading companies and research entities specializing in Agri-tech, Water-tech, Climate-tech, Health-biotech, Smart Mobility, AI, Cybersecurity, and Quantum technologies.
Innovation and Tech partnership is a key pillar of India-Israel bilateral ties. The two countries are working together to build solutions to address modern-day challenges through the "India-Israel Innovation Bridge" initiative. During the walk-through, Prime Minister interacted with scientists, tech-entrepreneurs and CEOs of the following companies/entities:
The exhibition showcased cutting-edge innovations in areas such as quantum technology, artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare, smart mobility, cybersecurity, water management, agriculture, climate technology, energy, and space. These solutions showcased Israel's robust innovation ecosystem and its leadership role in emerging technologies.
During this visit, Modi interacted with innovators and entrepreneurs and witnessed live demonstrations of several innovative solutions, including precision agriculture, sustainable water management, advanced cybersecurity systems, and quantum research platforms.
Prime Minister Modi stated that these technologies align with India's development priorities and have vast potential for expansion and adaptation in the country. He stated, "These innovations can play a transformative role in increasing agricultural productivity, expanding access to healthcare in rural areas, strengthening cybersecurity infrastructure, advancing quantum research, and enabling sustainable water and climate solutions."
PM Modi invites Israeli companies to expand collaboration
Citing India's extensive digital infrastructure, skilled workforce, and vast market, PM Modi invited Israeli companies to expand collaboration with Indian startups, research institutions, and industry. He said, "Contribute actively to India's journey towards a developed India."
Netanyahu also highlighted the complementary strengths of the two countries, saying that growing cooperation in high-tech sectors will further strengthen the bilateral partnership. India and Israel have expanded cooperation in various sectors, including defence, agriculture, water management and advanced technology, since establishing full diplomatic relations in 1992.
Modi's visit is seen as an important step towards further strengthening the India-Israel strategic partnership, with technology cooperation emerging as a key pillar.
