Bhagwant Mann Hospitalized: Security was tightened after a threat to blow up Punjab's Fortis Hospital was received where Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is currently The threatening email said the hospital will be blown up at  1:11 pm. 

The email contains serious and objectionable remarks about the Chief Minister. It claims that he has been infected with a radioactive substance called polonium and that if he survives, he will fsce the same fate as former Chief Minister Beant Singh. It is noteworthy that Beant Singh was assassinated in a human bomb attack at the Chandigarh Secretariat.

Polonium is considered an extremely rare and toxic radioactive element. Punjab Police and intelligence agencies are on high alert following the threat. The hospital premises have been cordoned off and five bomb squads have been deployed.

No plans to shift CM: SP

According to Mohali Superintendent of Police Dilpreet Singh, there are no plans to shift the Chief Minister to another hospital at this time, but security has been significantly tightened. In addition to Fortis Hospital, 16 schools in Mohali have also received similar threats, which have led to a precautionary closure.

CM was hospitalized on Sunday

The Chief Minister was hospitalized on Sunday due to high blood pressure. He was discharged on Monday morning and attended the Aam Aadmi Party's anti-drug rally in Moga, where Arvind Kejriwal was also present. He was re-admitted to the hospital around 5 p.m. Monday evening after his health deteriorated during the rally.

Police probe email

According to police, the email, sent from a Gmail account named "Hunter Farley," described Punjab as Khalistan and warned against school closures. The email also mentioned the name of the so-called "Khalistan National Army."

Although several schools in Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala, Mohali, and Chandigarh have previously received bomb threat emails, which later proved false. However, this time, due to the involvement of the Chief Minister, the police are taking the matter very seriously and are investigating the source of the emails.
