Call to include one crore women in Uttar Pradesh in Lakhpati Mahila Club: Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya visits Saras Mela in Varanasi
Varanasi: The 11-day regional (national level) Saras Mela concluded with grand celebrations on Monday at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in the presence of Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya.
Women's groups from various states and districts of Uttar Pradesh generated business worth approximately one crore rupees at this residential fair. The fair featured decorative items, food offerings, brass items, pickles, leather goods, artificial jewelry, kurtis, bedsheets, carpets, jute products, and jute products.
Addressing the women from the groups at the fair, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya called for more women to join the group. He called for the inclusion of one crore women in the state in the Lakhpati Mahila Club and making them lakhpati women. He announced the organization of Saras Melas in the coming days, so that women from other states and districts may be inspired and encourage other women to come forward.
He praised the work of the women and their products. The Deputy Chief Minister visited the stalls, inquired about the products, and praised the work of the food court set up by the Livelihood Mission.
Keshav Prasad Maurya honored two Bima Sakhis from Varanasi, Meena Devi and Pratibha Devi, and two lakhpati women, Sharmila Devi and Lakshmi Verma, by giving them certificates.
Symbolic cheques totaling Rs 10 crore 60 lakh 50 thousand were given to 703 groups of the district under the Community Investment Fund and to 20 groups under the Revolving Fund. E-rickshaws were also provided to women from two groups and certificates were distributed.
