How Uttar Pradesh is emerging as green energy hub under CM Yogi Adityanath’s leadership
Lucknow: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly progressing in the field of clean and alternative energy. The government is taking concrete steps to develop the state as a green energy hub.
Green hydrogen projects are being established in Gorakhpur and Rampur districts of the state, which will promote clean energy production and promote environmental protection.
Green hydrogen pilot project is being established in Gorakhpur
Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) Director Indrajit Singh stated that a 0.5 MW green hydrogen pilot project is being established by Torrent Power in Gorakhpur. The project will have a production capacity of approximately 9 kilograms per hour.
This pilot project is considered important to assess the use of green hydrogen technology in the state and explore the possibilities of its commercial expansion.
Hydrogen production project in Rampur
Singh added that a green hydrogen production project is being established by Zero Footprint Industries Private Limited in Rampur district. The plant will have a production capacity of approximately 22.5 kilograms per hour.
This project will not only promote clean energy production but is also expected to spur investment and industrial activity in the region.
Green hydrogen is considered the clean fuel of the future. It is produced through water electrolysis using renewable energy sources, resulting in near-zero carbon emissions. It can be used in sectors such as transportation, industry, and energy storage.
These projects being established in the state will play a significant role in establishing Uttar Pradesh as a leading state in the field of clean energy. They will also strengthen the development and investment potential of green hydrogen-related industries in the state.
