MP: Naivedya Lok in Ujjain modeled after Indore's '56 Dukan'; enjoy a unique blend of taste and health here, CM Mohan Yadav dedicates
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the residents of the holy city of Ujjain—the abode of Lord Mahakal—received a new gift today. Naivedya Lok, situated near the city's Nanakheda Bus Stand, was grandly inaugurated on Thursday—marking the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Nav Varsh Pratipada (the first day of the Hindu New Year)—with Chief Minister Dr. Yadav serving as the Chief Guest.
Amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras and the resounding of conch shells, CM cut the ceremonial ribbon to inaugurate Naivedya Lok—a food hub built at a cost of Rs 18 crore, modeled after the famous '56 Dukan' (56 Shops) of Indore.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav personally inspected every stall, interacted with the vendors, and even sampled some of the culinary delicacies on offer. Stalls at Naivedya Lok have been set up by the city's leading and renowned restaurants and food establishments, ensuring a unique blend of both "taste and health." Here, special emphasis has been placed on highly nutritious and health-promoting food items made from millets (Shri Anna), alongside Ujjain's traditional and popular local delicacies.
A Variety of Attractive Stalls at Naivedya Lok
Naivedya Lok features a diverse array of attractive stalls; most notably, 'Hare Krishna Organic Farming' is offering organic millets (Shri Anna) and fresh organic produce. With a keen focus on health alongside flavor, the culinary offerings available to the general public include Kodo millet Khichdi, Kodo millet Kheer, Kodo millet Idli, Sorghum (Jowar) Poha, and Finger Millet (Ragi) Sev. 'Fresh Box Organic' will provide specially curated millet-based dishes and services, including healthy salads, diet plans, organic groceries, organic oils, and ghee.
Famous 'Kachru Bhaiya Ki Kachori' Also Available
The renowned 'Kachru Bhaiya Ki Kachori'—hailing from the Mawa Bazaar near Gopal Temple and celebrated for its unparalleled taste since 1968—will also be available at Naivedya Lok for a limited period. This offers the residents of Ujjain and visitors alike a chance to savor the nostalgic flavors of the past. All these dishes are not only delicious but, owing to their high nutritional value, will also prove to be extremely beneficial for health.
The inauguration of 'Naivedya Lok' will provide an attractive, accessible, and wholesome dining option for the residents of Ujjain, as well as for the millions of devotees and tourists visiting to seek the blessings of Lord Mahakal. Meeting with Kachru Bhaiya, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav remarked that it was an excellent decision to open a stall here as well; now, the residents of Nanakheda will no longer have to travel to the old city to enjoy kachoris.
Attractive food hub for the city
Cultural performances were also presented during the event by Smt. Ragini Makhad, Dr. Makhad, and the institution of Harihareshwar Podar. Notably, Naivedya Lok has been developed by the Ujjain Development Authority as a modern and attractive food hub (Chaupati) for the city.
Various amenities have been developed
The fully equipped Naivedya Lok complex has been developed across a total area of 28,000 square feet. The complex features 34 shops dedicated to the food hub. Additionally, various amenities have been developed here, including a well-appointed open-air theater for cultural programs, a sound system, restrooms equipped with modern sensor technology for men, women, and persons with disabilities, a CCTV camera and server room, a DG set for emergency power backup, parking facilities, an underground electrical system, an underground sewage system, and landscaping.
