PM Modi likely to inaugurate Noida's Jewar Airport on this day; CM Yogi announces; how it will be a game-changer for UP's economy?
The wait for the country's largest international airport is about to end. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate Jewar Airport in Noida on March 28. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath announced this on Wednesday at a ceremony marking the completion of his government's nine years of successful tenure. The state currently has 16 domestic and four international airports.
The airport in Jewar is the state's fifth and the country's largest international airport. A book detailing the government's achievements during its nine-year tenure was also released on this occasion.
Referring to air connectivity, CM Yogi said that Uttar Pradesh operates 16 airports, including four international airports. Uttar Pradesh's fifth international airport is ready in Jewar. It will be the country's largest airport. We have requested and invited PM Modi to inaugurate it on March 28, he said.
Expected to generate revenue of Rs 1 lakh crore
Calling Jewar Airport a game-changer for Uttar Pradesh's economy, CM Yogi said that it is expected to generate revenue of Rs 1 lakh crore in the future. It will become the second international airport in the National Capital Region (NCR) after Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.
Projected to be a "game-changer" for North India's aviation infrastructure, reducing congestion at Delhi's IGI Airport and driving economic growth, regional logistics, and real estate in Western UP.
Airport's features include modern terminals, advanced smart navigation systems, and automated facilities.
Positioned as India's largest airport upon completion, it aims to enhance NCR connectivity with 150 daily flights in its first phase.
The first phase covers 3,300 acres, designed to handle 1.2 crore passengers annually, with future expansion planned for a 7,200-acre, multi-runway facility.
