Ever since his IPL debut, there has been constant debate about when Vaibhav would get a chance to play in India's senior team. Now, having turned 15, his wait is over. According to the ICC's Player Eligibility Regulations, Vaibhav is now fully eligible to play senior international cricket.
Became the youngest player to score a fifty in the IPL
Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest player to score a fifty in the IPL. He reached the milestone at just 14 years and 32 days. Captain Riyan Parag is in second place, having scored a fifty in 2019 at the age of 17 years and 175 days.
Recently, when a reporter asked Vaibhav about the IPL—specifically inquiring what his goal was for the 2026 season, how many runs he aimed to score, and whether he aspired to win the Orange Cap—Vaibhav replied in a lighter vein, "If you ask questions like that, I'll just say two or three thousand runs."
Vaibhav set several records in U-19 World Cup
14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi set several records by playing an innings of 175 runs in the Under-19 World Cup. Vaibhav struck 15 fours and 15 sixes—meaning he scored 150 runs solely through boundaries. Thanks to his innings, India posted a total of 411 runs in 50 overs.
