Prime Minister Narendra Modi has slammed the TMC government in West Bengal.

Addressing a gathering in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, PM Modi stated, "The state government has deployed every weapon in its arsenal to obstruct this rally."

Speaking at the rally on Saturday, PM Modi remarked, "Today, to prevent this gathering from taking place, the ruthless government of West Bengal unleashed every weapon at its disposal."

He added, "To stop you—the people—from attending, they shut down bridges, halted vehicles, caused traffic jams, uprooted BJP flags, and tore down posters. But let this ruthless government take a good look: you have failed to stop the massive wave of humanity witnessed here today."

Earlier, a clash had erupted between supporters of the TMC (Trinamool Congress) and the BJP at a location approximately 5 kilometers away from the rally venue in Kolkata. BJP supporters alleged that they were suddenly subjected to stone-pelting.

Conversely, the TMC alleged that State Minister Shashi Panja was targeted with stones. Writing on its 'X' handle, the TMC stated, "Such attempts to sow fear and chaos in Kolkata are unacceptable. The people of Bengal can clearly see what the BJP's 'Parivartan' (change) truly looks like."

PM laid foundation stone worth Rs.18,700 crore in Kolkata

Earlier, PM Narendra Modi laid foundation stone, inaugurated various development works worth Rs.18,700 crore in Kolkata, West Bengal. He said these initiatives will boost connectivity and improve the quality of life for people.

PM said today, a vigorous campaign is underway across the country to modernize the railways, It is our resolve that West Bengal should not be left behind in this campaign, That is why the central government is also rapidly expanding the railway infrastructure in West Bengal, he said.

PM Modi said ports like Kolkata and Haldia have long been major centers of trade in Eastern India; the Haldia Dock Complex is undergoing mechanization, This will speed up cargo operations, increase the port’s capacity, and provide new facilities for trade, he added.
