Taking this matter seriously, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has imposed a fine amounting to 25% of Riyan Parag's match fee. According to an IPL statement, Parag violated Article 2.21 of the Code of Conduct, which pertains to "conduct contrary to the spirit of the game." The player has accepted the sanction imposed by Match Referee Amit Sharma.
