Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, which began on March 19, will continue till June 30 across the state. He stated that districts are undertaking several innovative initiatives under the campaign. To encourage wider public participation in improving local water structures, special activities will be organised on Ganga Dussehra (May 25).

To transform the campaign into a mass movement, collective activities such as cleaning of wells, stepwells, ponds, and canals, plantation drives, ghat cleaning, and community-based water conservation efforts will be promoted at village and ward levels.

Public representatives of Panchayats and urban bodies, social and religious organisations, NGOs, women self-help groups, trade associations and other institutions will be actively involved. CM issued these directions during a state-level review meeting via video conferencing from Samatva Bhavan.

CM informed that 82 activities across 16 departments have been identified under the campaign. Madhya Pradesh currently leads the country in the Water Conservation Participation Campaign. Districts such as Dindori and Khandwa have secured first and second positions at the national level. He urged all districts to undertake innovations that can serve as national models.

Regular monitoring of activities undertaken by each department will be carried out, and districts will also be ranked accordingly. During the summer, arrangements such as public drinking water points (pyaus), cleanliness around water sources, and water quality testing at schools and Anganwadi centres will be ensured. Educational institutions will also conduct awareness activities to promote water conservation.

Activities under the campaign are being implemented through multiple departments, including Panchayat and Rural Development, Urban Development and Housing, Public Health Engineering, Horticulture, Water Resources, Narmada Valley Development, School Education, MSME, Pollution Control Board, Forest Department, MP Industrial Development Corporation, Jan Abhiyan Parishad, Higher Education, Culture, Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development, and Revenue Department.

Agriculture Minister Edal Singh Kansana, Cooperation Minister Vishwas Sarang, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Neeraj Mandloi, Agriculture Production Commissioner Ashok Barnwal, along with senior officials were present at the meeting.
