Taking a significant step towards making tourism and religious pilgrimages in the state more accessible, safe, and enjoyable, Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav will formally launch a new sector (Bhopal-Chanderi-Orchha) under the "PM Shri Heli Tourism Service" on Sunday, April 19, at 10:45 AM, from the State Hangar in the capital. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will flag off the helicopter and present boarding passes to the passengers.

Boost for Religious and Historical Tourism

This new sector will connect Bhopal with Orchha—the royal abode of Lord Shri Ram—and Chanderi, a town renowned for its historical heritage. This initiative will enable devotees to reach the Shri Ram Raja Temple with ease for darshan (worship) and allow them to experience the cultural heritage and famous handicrafts (Chanderi Sarees) of Chanderi.

End-to-End Service to Operate 5 Days a Week

Under Sector-2, this service will operate five days a week (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). The fare for passengers traveling from Bhopal to Chanderi has been fixed at Rs 5,500, while the fare from Bhopal to Orchha is set at Rs 6,500. Additionally, a special package priced at Rs 14,500 includes 'end-to-end' amenities such as taxi services, VIP darshan, and prasad (religious offerings). A 'Joy Ride' facility will also be available for tourists in Chanderi and Orchha at a cost of Rs 3,500.

Convenience and Safety Paramount

Operated under a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model, this service places special emphasis on the safety and security of tourists. Modern 6-seater helicopters are being utilized for these journeys. Arrangements for hotels, meals, and local guides at the destinations will be pre-arranged. Tourists can book their trips via the website www.flyola.in or through the IRCTC portal.

The "PM Shri Heli Tourism Service" was originally launched by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav on the occasion of Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day, November 1, 2025. This service is currently operating successfully between the spiritual sector—covering Indore, Ujjain, and Omkareshwar—and the wildlife sector—covering Jabalpur, Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Chitrakoot, and Maihar. To date, 2,648 tourists and devotees have availed themselves of this service.
