Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan: What did PM Modi say regarding Women's Reservation Bill?
On Monday, PM Modi delivered an address at the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan' (Women's Empowerment Conference) held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi.
Speaking on the Women's Reservation Bill, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked that the country's Parliament is on the verge of scripting a new chapter in history.
PM Modi stated, "The dates of April 16, 17, and 18 mark the culmination of decades of waiting—spanning from the State Legislative Assemblies all the way to the country's Parliament. In 2023, within the new Parliament building, we took the pivotal first step in this direction through the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' (Women's Empowerment Act)."
"To ensure that this legislation is implemented in a timely manner—and that women's participation serves to further strengthen our democracy—a special sitting of the Parliament's Budget Session is scheduled to be held starting April 16."
He added, "I state this with a profound sense of responsibility: this decision stands as one of the most significant decisions of the 21st century."
PM Modi further observed, "The path leading to Parliament is now set to become more accessible. Today, the role played by women has assumed even greater significance. Through the various schemes and initiatives we have introduced, women have been empowered to become economically strong."
PM said the women’s power of the country has touched new heights with their hard work, courage, and self-confidence. Now we have to together give new energy to this power, expand opportunities for it. Today from this stage I want to assure every mother, sister, daughter of the country that the nation understands their aspirations and is taking every necessary step to realize their dreams.
