Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: The Railways has taken a significant step toward further strengthening rail connectivity across the country. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has approved a Sleeper Vande Bharat train service between Mumbai and Bengaluru. This will be the country's second Sleeper Vande Bharat train. The train will undertake an overnight journey, offering passengers a fast and comfortable travel option.

Passengers on the new Sleeper Vande Bharat train will have access to state-of-the-art amenities. This train will not only reduce travel time but also provide a comfortable and safe travel experience.

This new service will operate between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (Mumbai) and KSR Bengaluru Railway Station. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared this information in a letter addressed to BJP MP PC Mohan. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also expressed his gratitude for this decision by the Railway Minister.

Faster and equipped with more modern amenities

This Vande Bharat train will pass through several major cities. It will make halts at key stations such as Pune, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Raichur, and Guntakal. A key highlight of this service is that it will be faster and equipped with more modern amenities compared to the trains currently operating on this route.

Currently, regular superfast trains take 18 to 22 hours to cover the distance between Mumbai and Bengaluru. Thanks to its top speed of 160 km/h, the Vande Bharat Sleeper will complete this journey in just 10 to 12 hours, saving passengers approximately 8 hours

According to reports, the Central Government aims to launch at least 12 Sleeper Vande Bharat trains across the country by December 2026. This initiative is being undertaken with the objective of making long-distance travel more convenient and faster. Previously, the Sleeper Vande Bharat launched on the Kamakhya-Howrah route received a positive response from passengers, thereby raising expectations for this new service as well.

Travel between two major metropolises will be easier

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for this decision. He stated that this service would make travel between two major metropolises—Mumbai and Bengaluru—even easier.

Notably, India's first Vande Bharat train service was launched in 2019, connecting New Delhi and Varanasi. Since then, this network has expanded rapidly, and Indian Railways continues to add new routes.

According to railway statistics, millions of passengers have already benefited from convenient travel through this service, leading to its steadily growing popularity.
