Pakistan Minister’s Empty Threat Regarding Kolkata… Find Out What Khawaja Asif Said?
Pakistan's Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, has spoken of launching an attack on Kolkata. Issuing a warning to India, Khawaja Asif stated that if any "misadventure" occurs in the future, he would respond by striking Kolkata.
This warning comes in the wake of a warning issued by India's Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh. While warning Islamabad, Rajnath Singh had stated that if terrorist attacks were to recur, India would take unprecedented action. These warnings have surfaced just ahead of the anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack—which falls on April 22—in which 22 people were killed.
What Khawaja Asif Said
In response to India's warning, Khawaja Asif stated, "If India attempts to carry out a 'false flag operation' (a staged attack) this time, then—Insha'Allah—we will take the fight all the way to Kolkata."
Asif wrote on the social media platform X that history serves as a stern lesson that miscalculation carries grave consequences. Asif accused Rajnath Singh of attempting to escalate tensions by leveling baseless allegations for his own political gain.
"Next time, our response will be even more forceful and decisive. There is no doubt about this: Pakistan remains fully committed to peace and regional stability; however, its resolve to defend its sovereignty is unwavering, its preparedness is complete, and its response will be measured yet decisive."
Earlier this week, Asif had also threatened India with future aggression, stating that "harboring the illusion of scope for war between two nuclear powers is inconceivable." He also warned of a "swift" and "calibrated" response to any military actions by India.
India's Warning to Pakistan
Addressing an event on Thursday in the poll-bound state of Kerala, Rajnath Singh warned that, given the current circumstances, any "misadventurous" act by India's neighbor, Pakistan, would invite "unprecedented and decisive" action.
According to the Defense Minister, following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in April 2025—which claimed the lives of 26 people—India had destroyed terrorist hideouts and infrastructure located within Pakistan. He claimed that in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, during 'Operation Sindoor,' the Indian Army brought Pakistan to its knees in just 22 minutes, marking the largest operation ever conducted against terrorism.
The Defense Minister stated, “I would like to inform you that this operation is not yet over. If Pakistan attempts such nefarious acts again, our military will deliver a crushing response that it will never forget. What transpires this time will be an unprecedented action,” he asserted.
