MP Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the ‘PM Ekta Mall’ of Madhya Pradesh, envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is rapidly taking shape on Harifatak Road in Ujjain. Being constructed by the Ujjain Development Authority, the mall will not only serve as a commercial hub but will also emerge as a vibrant symbol of India’s linguistic, cultural, and artistic diversity. It will showcase a unique blend of the architectural style of Shri Mahakal Mahalok and modern amenities.

Key Features and Architecture

Cost and Area: This grand mall is being constructed at a cost of Rs 284 crore on about 3.2 hectares of land, with a total built-up area of 5.50 lakh square feet.

Religious and Cultural Inspiration: The mall has been designed and developed keeping Ujjain’s mythological and cultural heritage in mind. It will showcase architectural elements inspired by Shri Mahakal Mahalok.

Grand Entrance Gate: The main entrance of the mall will be 60 feet high and constructed using Jaisalmer yellow sandstone. Two Nandi statues, each 12 feet high and 12 feet long, made of pink sandstone, will be installed at the entrance.

Ashoka Pillar and Pillars of Diversity: A 28-foot-high bronze Ashoka Pillar will be installed at the main entrance. Additionally, distinct pillars representing each state of India will also be constructed.

Entire India Under One Roof

Participation of States: A total of 36 shops, each measuring 1,050 square feet, are being developed for distinctive products from every state and Union Territory of India.

Representation of Madhya Pradesh Districts: To promote One District One Product (ODOP) items from across Madhya Pradesh, 55 shops, each measuring 300 square feet, will be allotted to showcase local products from the state’s districts.

Artistic Interior Décor: The false ceiling of the convention centre will showcase renowned traditional Indian painting styles such as Madhubani, Kalamkari, Pichwai and Bengal Pattachitra.

Modern Facilities and Entertainment

Convention Centre: The mall will include a large hall with a seating capacity of 1,500, along with 53 well-furnished rooms, a conference hall, and three meeting halls.

Entertainment and Dining: The complex will have two multiplexes (capacity 250 each), 27 food zone shops, three restaurants, two game zones, and a Millet Lok (1,200 sq. ft.).

Parking and Accessibility: For visitors’ convenience, basement parking for 400 four-wheelers and 200 two-wheelers will be provided, along with 12 escalators and 13 elevators.

Target and Current Status

Construction work on PM Ekta Mall is progressing rapidly, with around 70 per cent of the work already completed. The authority has set a target to complete the remaining work by July 2026, after which the mall is expected to become a major attraction for devotees and tourists visiting Ujjain.
