Rajasthan Recruitment Update 2026-27: Police Constable and VDO Recruitment in 2027, Passing CET Will Now Be Mandatory.
A major update has emerged for youths in Rajasthan who are preparing for government jobs. The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has formulated a new plan regarding the recruitment of Police Constables and Village Development Officers (VDOs). Both of these major recruitment drives will now be conducted in the year 2027. A key highlight is that, prior to applying for these positions, it will be mandatory for candidates to pass the Common Eligibility Test (CET).
Major Shift in Recruitment Process: Both Key Recruitment Drives to be Held in 2027, Candidates Gain Additional Time
According to the new plan, the recruitment for Rajasthan Police Constables and VDOs will now take place in 2027. This will provide candidates with additional time to strengthen their preparation. Previously, there was a state of uncertainty regarding these recruitment drives; however, it is now clear that the recruitment process will proceed strictly within the stipulated timeline.
Preparations Underway to Recruit for Over 4,000 Village Development Officer Posts; Graduates to Get an Opportunity
Preparations are currently underway in the state to recruit for over 4,000 positions of Village Development Officers (VDOs). Although the final count will be revealed alongside the official notification, it is certain that a significant number of vacancies will be filled. Candidates who have completed their graduation will be eligible to apply for this recruitment, thereby boosting employment opportunities within the rural development sector.
Recruitment for over 9,000 Constable Posts in Rajasthan Police: A Golden Opportunity for 12th-Pass Youths
A proposal to recruit for over 9,000 Constable positions in the Rajasthan Police has been submitted to the state government. This recruitment drive, too, will be conducted in 2027. Candidates who have passed the 12th grade are eligible to apply for this position. The age limit has been set between 18 and 25 years, while candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive age relaxation in accordance with the applicable rules.
Passing the CET Will Be Mandatory; Exam Likely to Be Held by the End of 2026
To participate in both of these recruitment drives, candidates must first pass the CET examination. The RSSB is expected to conduct the CET by the end of 2026. This examination will be structured similarly to the REET, wherein securing a minimum of 60% marks will be a mandatory requirement. In other words, aspirants must focus on their CET preparation starting right now.
This is the time for candidates to engage in strategic preparation, as the path to recruitment will open up only through a strong score in the CET.
Experts believe that the CET has now become the first and most crucial stepping stone for these recruitment drives. Therefore, candidates must perform exceptionally well not only in the main examination but also in the CET. Only those aspirants who secure high marks in the CET will find their path to selection in the subsequent recruitment stages becoming smoother.
