School Chale Hum campaign launched in MP: Students welcome CM Mohan Yadav by ringing bicycle bells, CM showers flower petals on children

School Chale Hum: Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is moving step by step to contribute to the nation’s development. He informed that the ‘School Chale Hum’ campaign will be conducted across the state from April 1 to 4, during which children will be enrolled in schools. CM Dr. Yadav also congratulated the School Education Department for bringing the dropout rate in government schools down to zero. 

CM said that the admission process for Classes 1, 6, and 9 in government schools has been simplified, resulting in a significant 19.6 per cent increase in overall enrolment during the academic year 2025–26. Government schools in the state have recorded a 32.4 per cent increase in enrollment, reflecting growing public trust in the government education system. The state government has set a target of 1.45 crore student enrolments in schools during the current session.



CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that 369 grand Sandipani Schools have been established in the states, which are among the best schools in the country. These schools provide all the facilities required for the holistic development of students. PM SHRI Schools are also playing a significant role in strengthening the modern education system.

CM addressed the state-level Praveshotsav Programme 2026 at Model Higher Secondary School, Bhopal, on Wednesday. He formally inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. On this occasion, he distributed free bicycles and textbooks to students and wished them a bright future.

Students Welcome CM by Ringing Bicycle Bells

On the arrival of Chief Minister, students welcomed him by ringing bicycle bells, while the Scout and Guide team greeted him with melodious tunes played on musical instruments. CM showered flower petals on the students present at the ceremony. 



CM also visited stalls showcasing the Atal Tinkering Lab, Robotics Lab, Vocational Education, and ICT Lab. A short film based on the “School Chale Hum” campaign was screened on the occasion. A group photograph was also taken with schoolchildren who received free bicycles along with the Chief Minister.

Children Should Grow Up to Become Doctors, Engineers and Entrepreneurs

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the ‘School Chale Hum’ campaign is an innovative initiative to connect children with the education system. One child from every village across all 55 districts of the state is being enrolled in school. The School Education Department has ensured that no child remains deprived of education. 

CM said that there has been a significant increase in the preference of parents and children for government schools in the state. Teachers, along with all sections of society, have worked with dedication to eliminate dropouts. To facilitate students’ travel to and from school, free bicycles have been distributed, and over the next three to four months, four lakh children studying in government schools will receive bicycles.



CM said students are also being provided free uniforms, textbooks, and meals. Efforts are being made to strengthen the school education system so that children can grow up to become doctors, engineers, and entrepreneurs. He stated that to address the shortage of teachers, 76,325 teachers have been appointed in a timely manner.

Increase in School Enrolment across the State

School Education and Transport Minister Uday Pratap Singh said that the day is like Diwali for the School Education Department, as students are being welcomed into schools across the state. The enrolment rate in schools has increased, and over one crore children have already been enrolled. Admissions are being carried out from Class 1 to high school and higher secondary levels. 

CM said free bicycles and textbooks are being distributed to students. The government is also planning to organise block-level book fairs, where children from both government and private schools will be able to purchase affordable textbooks from the Textbook Corporation.
