Commercial flight operations to commence from Noida International Jewar Airport from This Day
Noida International Airport: The long-standing wait for the people of Delhi-NCR and Western UP has finally come to an end. Commercial flight operations are set to commence from Noida International Airport—also known as Jewar Airport—starting June 15; the airport authorities officially announced this on Friday.
The inaugural flight from this airport will be operated by IndiGo Airlines, followed by the launch of services by Akasa Air and Air India Express. Details regarding flight schedules, routes, and other amenities have not yet been released.
Airpoty officials confirmed that the airport will start handling passenger, airline, and cargo operations, strengthening its role as a key hub for the National Capital Region.
Noida International Airport will connect the greater Delhi region and western Uttar Pradesh to major domestic and international destinations. The facility currently includes one runway and one passenger terminal with an annual capacity of 12 million passengers.
Enhance connectivity across Western UP and NCR region
It is worth noting that Noida International Airport is being hailed as one of the most modern and largest airports in the country. The establishment of this airport is also expected to alleviate the growing pressure on Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. Furthermore, it will enhance connectivity across Western UP and the NCR region, while simultaneously generating new opportunities for investment and employment.
The operationalization of this airport will provide significant convenience to travelers, particularly those residing in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, and the surrounding districts.
It is reported that the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) recently issued a 'No Objection Certificate' (NOC), thereby approving the airport's Aerodrome Security Program (ASP). This approval serves as a testament that the airport's security infrastructure and protocols are fully compliant with all regulatory standards. The airport is now fully prepared to ensure the safety and security of its passengers.
The airport management stated that the next step is to determine a date for commencing commercial operations in collaboration with airline companies and other partners. Coordination is currently being established with all stakeholders to ensure that the launch of operations proceeds in a smooth and organized manner. Officials report that all necessary systems, procedures, and staffing requirements at the airport are currently being finalized.
