Juvenile Monkey's Head Stuck in Metal Pot for Three Days in UP's Amroha; Could Forest Officials Rescue?
Amroha: In the Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh, a team from the Forest Department successfully and safely rescued a young monkey whose head had been trapped inside a metal pot for three days, following a daring rescue operation. Following this successful operation, local residents breathed a sigh of relief and lauded the efforts of the forest officials.
In the Gandhi Nagar locality of the Mandi Dhanaura area, the juvenile monkey had been in severe distress for the past three days due to its head becoming stuck in a metal pot. Amidst scorching heat and temperatures hovering around 40 degrees Celsius, the animal was unable to either eat or drink. During this ordeal, it also narrowly escaped falling from rooftops on several occasions. Public concern intensified after a video of the incident went viral on social media. The monkey's mother was also very nervous and distressed during this time.
Aggressive troop of monkeys had encircled the distressed juvenile
The rescue operation proved to be a challenging task for the Forest Department, as an aggressive troop of monkeys had encircled the distressed juvenile, preventing anyone from approaching it. Despite the unavailability of a specialized expert team, local forest officials demonstrated great presence of mind and courage by taking command of the operation themselves.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Rajiv Kumar stated that the team cordoned off the area, safely captured the juvenile amidst the aggressive troop, and carefully removed the metal pot from its head. Upon being freed, the young monkey immediately made its way toward a safe location.
The DFO announced that the team responsible for successfully executing this risky operation would be rewarded. Local residents also praised this humane initiative by the Forest Department, noting that had the rescue not been carried out in a timely manner, the young monkey could have lost its life.
