🎧 Listen to this Article:

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has refuted reports claiming a shortage of oil and gas within the country. The company stated that fuel supplies across its entire network remain normal and that operations are continuing without any interruptions.

Concerns regarding fuel availability had surfaced amidst the ongoing crisis in Iran. Reports suggested that disruptions in global oil and gas supplies were impacting certain parts of India. Residents in some areas had also complained of long queues at petrol pumps and a shortage of cooking gas.

However, HPCL asserted that the situation is being exaggerated and that there is no cause for concern.

In a statement issued on X, the company described the reports regarding fuel shortages and supply disruptions as "misleading" and stated that they do not reflect the ground reality.

The company further added that fuel supplies remain stable at all HPCL retail outlets, and stocks are being replenished regularly across the country.

HPCL also clarified that the minor crowding observed at some petrol pumps is primarily attributable to an increase in fuel demand during the month of May. The company noted that many customers are opting for HPCL outlets because fuel prices at certain private petrol pumps are comparatively higher.
