India Squad Announced for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026: The Indian squad for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to be played this June, has been announced. The BCCI declared the 15-member squad on Saturday. Star player Harmanpreet Kaur has been named captain for this mega event, while Smriti Mandhana will serve as the vice-captain.

Team India also features a surprise inclusion for the T20 World Cup, which is set to take place in England from June 12 to July 5. Nandini Sharma, a Delhi Capitals player who delivered a stellar bowling performance in the Women’s Premier League 2026, has been given a spot in the World Cup squad.

Nandini Sharma has been included in India's 15-member squad for the upcoming 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Nandini—who created a sensation in the WPL by taking a hat-trick—has earned her maiden call-up to the national team.

A 24-year-old fast bowler hailing from Chandigarh, Nandini Sharma delivered a powerful bowling performance in her very first season of the Women’s Premier League. Playing for the Delhi Capitals, she claimed 17 wickets, finishing as the joint-highest wicket-taker of the tournament.

This will be the maiden appearance for four players in the squad. Besides Nandani Sharma, Shree Charani, Bharti Fulmali and Kranti Gaud will be getting their first taste of an ICC Women's T20 World Cup.

Setting Sights on a Second Consecutive Title

The Indian team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, will go all out to win the World Cup title for the second consecutive time. It is worth noting that last year, the Indian women's team delivered a magnificent performance in the ODI World Cup, clinching the title for the very first time.

Amol Muzumdar will take on the role of Head Coach. The skipper will be supported in the batting lineup by key players in Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh, while the bowling responsibilities will largely rest on the shoulders of Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh.
