Ladli Behna Scheme completes 3 years in MP; CM Mohan Yadav to transfer 36th installment in accounts of beneficiaries on this day

MP Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will release the 36th installment of the Ladli Behna Scheme on May 13 at Gotegaon in Narsinghpur district for economic empowerment, self-reliance, and dignity of crores of women in Madhya Pradesh. A total amount of Rs 1,835 crore 67 lakh 29 thousand 250 will be transferred in a single click into the bank accounts of 1 crore 25 lakh 22 thousand 542 Ladli Behna beneficiaries.

The Ladli Behna Scheme has become a foundation of economic security, confidence and respect in the lives of women. Regular financial assistance has increased participation of women in family decision-making, improved nutrition and health levels, and strengthened the economic role of women in both rural and urban areas.

Journey of Continuous Empowerment since Scheme Launch

Since its launch in June 2023, this ambitious Ladli Behna Scheme has successfully transferred 35 monthly installments up to April 2026. The installment being released in May 2026 will be the 36th installment. From June 2023 to April 2026, a total of Rs 55,926.51 crore has been directly deposited into women’s accounts through DBT.

Increase in Assistance Amount: From Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per month

At the start of the scheme, each eligible woman was provided Rs 1,000 per month. In October 2023, this was increased to Rs 1,250 per month. Later, from November 2025, the amount was further increased to Rs 1,500 per month. Under social security pension schemes, women receiving lower amounts are also being provided additional support through this scheme to ensure the total eligible assistance.

Financial Commitment For Women Welfare

The state government has spent Rs 14,726.05 crore in financial year 2023-24, Rs 19,051.39 crore in 2024-25, and Rs 20,318.53 crore in 2025-26 on the Ladli Behna Scheme. In 2026-27, up to April 2026, an amount of Rs 1,830.54 crore has been spent. For financial year 2026-27, a budget provision of Rs 23,882.81 crore has been made for the Ladli Behna Scheme, reflecting strong commitment toward women’s economic empowerment.

Widespread Change in Lives of Crores of Women

The Ladli Behna Scheme has established a new benchmark in women welfare in Madhya Pradesh. It has become not only an economic support scheme, but also an effective tool of social transformation. Significant positive changes have been observed in women’s lives across the state.

Regular financial assistance has made women more self-reliant in managing household expenses, enabling them to better support children’s nutrition, education and health needs. The assistance has encouraged many women to join self-help groups, small industries and self-employment activities, creating additional sources of income.

With economic empowerment, women’s participation in important family decisions has increased, and their opinions are being given more importance. Direct transfer of funds into bank accounts has connected women with formal banking and financial services, significantly improving financial literacy and confidence.

Equally Beneficial for Rural and Urban Women

The scheme benefits a wide section, including rural, tribal, urban, widowed, divorced and abandoned women. Direct transfer of funds into active Aadhaar-linked bank accounts ensures a fully transparent and quick process.

The state government has also provided additional financial assistance on various special occasions and festivals, bringing joy and encouragement into women’s lives. This has made the scheme not just a regular support system, but also a source of emotional strength.
