Major Action in Twisha Sharma Case: Preparations for second autopsy, Samarth Singh sent to seven-day police custody, Bar Council suspends license
The investigation into the high-profile death case of Twisha Sharma in Bhopal has now intensified. Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar held a press conference and made several major revelations regarding the case. The police have made it clear that every angle of the case will be investigated, and no accused person or accomplice will be spared.

On Saturday, Samarth Singh was produced in Bhopal court and sent on seven-day police custody. The Bar Council of India (BCI) has also suspended the license of Advocate Samarth Singh for legal practice with immediate effect over allegations linked to the death of his wife.
According to the police, he had arrived in Jabalpur to surrender, but the court did not grant permission for the surrender. Subsequently, the Bhopal Police, with the assistance of the Jabalpur Police, took him into custody. The accused was then produced before the court following a medical examination.
Second Post-Mortem to be Conducted at AIIMS Bhopal
The Police Commissioner informed that, amidst the questions being raised regarding Twisha Sharma's death, a second post-mortem will now be conducted at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal. The police state that the investigation will proceed with complete transparency to ensure that the true cause of death is established. All medical and forensic aspects related to the case will be re-examined.
Preparations Underway to Interrogate Mother-in-Law
The Bhopal Police have clarified that they are identifying the individuals who provided assistance to Samarth Singh at the various locations where he hid while he was absconding. The Police Commissioner stated that legal action would be initiated against such individuals as well. Meanwhile, preparations to interrogate the accused's mother-in-law—retired District Judge Giribala Singh—have also been expedited. The police note that three notices have already been issued to her, but she has not yet joined the investigation.
Police Move Court to Cancel Giribala Singh's Anticipatory Bail
Police have filed an application in court seeking the cancellation of anticipatory bail of Giribala Singh, mother-in-law of Twisha. Additionally, 46 phone calls made following Twisha Sharma's death have also been brought under the scope of the investigation. The police state that, based on the family's complaints, call records and contacts are also being scrutinized. If deemed necessary, the individuals concerned will be questioned.
Police Respond to Allegations of Misconduct by Family
Twisha's family had alleged rude behavior on the part of the police at the station. Responding to this, the Police Commissioner asserted that no family member was mistreated. He said that CCTV cameras are installed in all police stations and that the footage can be reviewed if required. The police maintain that the entire investigation is being conducted strictly in accordance with the law and established procedures.
