Massive surge in commercial gas cylinder price, check new rates
Starting today, May 1st, the prices of commercial gas cylinders (Commercial LPG Cylinders) have witnessed a massive surge, heightening concerns for those operating hotels and restaurants. However, for those managing household kitchens, there is a silver lining: the prices of domestic gas cylinders (Domestic LPG Cylinders) remain unchanged.
The rise in commercial cylinder prices will increase operational costs for restaurant owners. Consequently, they may hike the prices of tea, breakfast items, and thalis. Catering services for weddings and events may also become more expensive.
Consumers of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders received a major shock this morning. According to the new rates released by Indian Oil (IOC), the price of a commercial cylinder has been hiked by a staggering Rs 993. Following this revision, a cylinder in Delhi will now cost Rs 3,071.50, up from the previous price of Rs 2,078.50. Similarly, Mumbai and Kolkata have also witnessed price increases.
Relief for the Common Man: Domestic Gas Cylinder Prices Remain Unchanged
On a reassuring note, there has been no change in the prices of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders. In Delhi, domestic cylinders continue to be available at the old rate of ₹913. This comes as welcome news for the middle class, as it ensures that no additional financial burden is placed on household kitchen budgets for the time being.
