What Major Decisions Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Took on PM Modi's Fuel-Saving Appeal
Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to conserve fuel, the Delhi government has taken major decisions. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced that government offices in the capital will observe a 'Work from Home' policy for two days a week. Additionally, the government has appealed to private companies to also implement a two-day 'Work from Home' schedule.
CM Rekha Gupta stated that the government is working at both the public and private levels to conserve petrol and diesel. Furthermore, the 'Mera Bharat, Mera Yogdan' (My India, My Contribution) scheme has been launched to support this initiative.
Two Days of 'Work from Home' in Govt Offices
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta remarked that the appeal Prime Minister Modi made to every citizen of the country was made in the national interest. She stated that, in response, the government has formulated a plan and has worked at both the public and private levels to ensure the conservation of petrol and diesel. She announced that government offices will now observe a 'Work from Home' policy for two days every week. Concurrently, an appeal will be made to private companies to also implement a two-day 'Work from Home' schedule.
20% Reduction in Fuel Allotment for Officials and Monday Metro
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta informed that the petrol and diesel allotment provided to government officials in Delhi has been reduced by 20 percent. Additionally, every Monday will be observed as 'Monday Metro.' Officials and employees are expected to commute to their offices via the Metro on Mondays. To facilitate this, 58 buses will be deployed to serve all government officials' residential colonies in Delhi, operating shuttle services between the colonies and the nearest Metro stations.
Appeal to Schools and Colleges
The Delhi government has also appealed to schools and colleges to introduce online classes. CM Rekha stated, "We appeal to schools, colleges, and universities to conduct classes online." Furthermore, for a period of six months, the Delhi government will refrain from purchasing any new petrol, diesel, or electric vehicles (EVs).
