Yog Mahotsav 2026 Organised at World Heritage Site Khajuraho; CM Mohan Yadav Said Yoga and Khajuraho are Integral Pillars of Indian Culture
The 25th Countdown Celebration for International Yoga Day was organized on Wednesday at the Western Group of Temples complex in Khajuraho. The event was inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav. CM Dr. Mohan Yadav joined the program virtually.
Approximately 800 people participated in a mass yoga session during the event, which commenced at 6 AM. The yoga session continued until 7:50 AM. Several public representatives were present at the event, including Culture Minister Dharmendra Lodhi, Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of AYUSH Monalisa Das, MP V.D. Sharma, MLA Arvind Pateriya, and MLA Lalita Yadav.
Addressing the program, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that efforts are underway to build a healthy, aware and spiritually enriched society by linking the Indian tradition of yoga to cultural values. He stated that both yoga and Khajuraho have remained integral pillars of Indian culture for centuries.
CM said,“Our government is taking all necessary steps to promote yoga. The AYUSH Department is currently running the campaign ‘Har Ghar Yog – Har Vyakti Nirog’ to take yoga to every household across the state.”
In his video message, CM Mohan Yadav said that yoga today is not merely a form of exercise, but has evolved into a way of life that embodies the spirit of ‘One Earth, One Health’. He said that the Madhya Pradesh Government is working with the vision of ‘Har Ghar Yog, Har Vyakti Nirog’ to make yoga and AYUSH-based healthcare accessible to every citizen.
He said through the AYUSH Department, successful campaigns are being conducted via Arogya Mandirs, Yoga Wellness Centres and various public awareness activities to make yoga an integral part of daily life.
CM said that with collective cooperation and participation, the state is striving to make yoga an integral part of every citizen’s life. He said that this event, organised by the Union Ministry of AYUSH, has become another important milestone in the nationwide preparations for International Yoga Day 2026. The programme also symbolises the commitment of both the Central and State Governments towards promoting holistic health and well-being through yoga.
