150 Electric Buses to Begin Operations in Indore under PM e-Bus Sewa; City Buses to Connect Indore with Other Districts; Inter-State Bus Services to Connect MP with Other States

MP: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of Madhya Pradesh Passenger Transport and Infrastructure Limited held at the Mantralaya on Monday to review the rollout of bus operations under the Chief Minister Sugam Transport Service.

The meeting was informed that bus operations under both the PM e-Bus Sewa and Chief Minister Sugam Transport Service would commence first in the Indore region. Under this arrangement, Atal Indore City Transport Services Limited (AICTSL) will serve all districts of the Indore Division and manage bus services originating from the region.

Bus operations under the Chief Minister Sugam Transport Service are proposed to commence from July in three categories:

1. Intercity bus services connecting Indore with other districts of Madhya Pradesh.

2. City bus services within Indore city, including notified routes extending to suburban areas.

3. Inter-state bus services connecting the Indore Division with neighboring states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, in accordance with transport agreements.

It was also informed that operations of 150 electric buses under the PM e-Bus Sewa are proposed to begin in Indore city from July.

The Managing Director Manish Singh informed the CM that a total of 620 routes connecting the seven regional headquarters with district headquarters across the state have been identified, on which 2,432 buses will operate. A total of 121 routes have been identified in the Indore region to connect various districts of Madhya Pradesh, with 608 buses proposed for operation on these routes.

Chief Minister Sugam Transport Service

Under the Chief Minister Sugam Transport Service, city bus services will also be operated in the seven regional headquarters—Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, Gwalior, Sagar, Jabalpur, and Rewa. These services will extend beyond city limits to important suburban areas for the convenience of commuters. In Indore, 28 city and suburban routes have been identified, on which 784 buses, including the 150 PM e-Bus Sewa buses, will operate.

101 inter-state routes

Similarly, 101 inter-state routes connecting the Indore region with Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh have been identified. A total of 276 inter-state buses will be operated by AICTSL on these routes. Altogether, 250 routes comprising intercity, city, and inter-state services originating from Indore have been identified, with 1,688 buses proposed for operation.
